Challenge me to cut down on savory meals, and I can probably do it. Ask me to stay away from sweets, and we may have a problem. I'm a self-confessed "sweet tooth". Thinking of all the sugar makes me feel guilty sometimes, and that's essentially why I'm glad to have discovered Sufree, an all-natural sweetener.

Lollapalooza 2015
If you've been following me on Instagram (if not, it's never too late!) you already know that I've had one heck of a summer vacation last 2015 when I spent three weeks in America. One of the highlights of my stay there was going to Lollapalooza, a 3-day music festival held during summertime in Chicago, IL. To share how amazing my FIRST music fest experience was, I decided to make a magazine out of it. See the rest of the pages under the break!

Since the party falls on a Friday, some of you might be coming straight from internship (like me!) Here's a day-to-night guide that I put together for the ladies.
(Disclaimer: None of the photos are mine, and are all taken off the Internet.)
For a day look, make sure to dress up appropriately according to the setting. Wear a blazer over a tailored dress or a chic cami swing top/bodycon skirt combo for a business casual look. Wear natural makeup on your face, and comfortable, closed heels on your feet.
When night comes.ditch those heels for fierce strappy sandals (like the Valentino Rockstud, which I wish I had!!!). Take off the blazer, too. The featured dress here has a sexy detail at a back, which will only be revealed when you switch to your night look. For the makeup, smokey eyes are the answer.
Hope you guys enjoyed this quick post!

11:11 Music Festival: World Beyond Wishes
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! ♥ This post is totally unrelated to the occasion, but I haven't posted in more than a month (oh my!), and there's this [really soon] upcoming event that I want to share with you guys. Read on to find out what it is!

11:11!
Make a wish!
We’ve
all waited for the clock to strike 11:11 at one point in our lives – we wait so
we can wish for our heart’s greatest desires. Have you ever
wished to celebrate 11:11 with your friends and just have fun while cherishing
the moment? (How about taking a break from all the schoolwork to just chill and immerse yourself in good music?)
One of the most outstanding
organizations in De La Salle University Manila, Economics Organization
(EconOrg), brings its first-ever music festival: the 11:11 Music Festival: World Beyond Wishes! Experience
11:11 like never before! The 11:11 Music Festival aims to bring you a music
experience like no other by promoting the country’s music scene and
highlighting Original Pilipino Music (OPM) at its best. An ultimate music
festival experience of indie, alternative rock, and electronic dance music (EDM)
all together in one event! A definitely fun-filled day as we sing along with our
very own local bands and dance the night away with our homegrown DJs!

The 11:11 Music Festival will not
only be an avenue for the country’s music industry but it will also be an
opportunity to promote social responsibility in the entrepreneur market by
having concessionaires that will serve the audience well and complement
the goals of the music festival. You will surely enjoy 11:11 concessionaires as
they give you the best food in town, as well as very fun interactive games
during the event.
Aside from that, there will be a picnic party in the afternoon where you can sit and enjoy the field while
relishing sumptuous food from our concessionaires and soothing music from our 11:11
Battle of the Bands finalists and other indie bands like Between Archery and Olympic, Autotelic, Identikit, Flying Ipis and
a lot more. Throughout the event, there will be a giant wishing wall where
people can post their wishes & goals for the new wear. In the evening,
experience a quality OPM x EDM party with your favorite local bands and Djs
such as Urbandub, Franco, Paraluman, Dj Ace Ramos, Rammy Bitong, Benefict Pacia, Edleen Lim, Curse & Bless, MC Gab
Canlas, and many more! As we all wait for 11:11! Yes, there will be a countdown
to 11:11 where we will all release our troubles and fears together, as there
would be LED balloon flying and grand confetti!
This is more than just wishful thinking!
Grab your friends, dress up in your most stylish yet comy outfit, and head down to Greenfield District, Mandaluyong on February 20, 2015 (Friday) and enjoy a

(CLOSED) Live the Dream at APOLLO Music Festival (GIVEAWAY)
It may be sweater weather already, but it doesn't mean that you can't experience the carefree feeling of summer all over again! And what better way is there to bring back the summer feels than, say, going to a music festival?
Praise the music god(s) because two university organization giants have teamed up to bring you music, booze, food, and party all in one day! This coming November 14, 2014 (that's a week from now!), take on the experience as the University of the Philippines Junior Marketing Association (UP JMA) and the De La Salle University Business Management Society (DLSU BMS) bring you the first ever inter-university Music Festival, APOLLO: Live the Dream at the Globe Circuit Events Ground in Circuit Makati.
The lineup lists the bands Sponge Cola, The Ransom Collective, She's Only Sixteen, and The Cohens. Beats to dance to through the night will then be played by DJ Lucio Pua, DJ Marc Marasigan, and DJ Ace Ramos. Aside from that, expect good food, free-flowing drinks, and an awesome lights show!
UP JMA and DLSU BMS also partnered with Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) for this event. Together, they crafted APOLLO to become not just an incredible night for the people, but also a platform for young and emerging artists.
Once again, APOLLO: Live the Dream will be happening on November 14, from 4PM onwards, at the Globe Circuit Events Ground in Circuit Makati. For more details, see their poster and/or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I would love to go to APOLLO (it would be my first music fest if ever)! Unfortunately, I can't, and I'm pretty bummed about it. Here's what I would have worn there though, just to give you guys an idea. People usually dress up in hipster outfits for music festivals, and nothing screams "hipster" more than the shirt-around-the-waist trend. Well, that, after florals and fringes at least (which I both don't have, sadly).
So there's some outfit inspiration for you! Have you gotten your tickets to APOLLO yet?
If you haven't, you came to the right place! In my absence, I am giving four (4) lucky people the chance to experience APOLLO!
T-shirt dresses have got to be my new favorite thing! (I got this one from my first visit to H&M's first branch here in the Philippines.) They are so comfy, which is why I thought it would be perfect to wear one to a music festival! Boots are also a good footwear of choice to complete the whole look. (I know there's still quite a touch of grunge in my outfit though, can't help it haha!) Oh, and don't forget to bring sunnies! Not only are they stylish, they are also handy in shielding your eyes from the sun.
T-shirt dress: H&M
Denim polo: Cotton On
Cut-out boots: Topshop
Necklace, v-midi rings, & earrings: Forever 21
Plain midi rings: Infinitine
Tattoo choker: Fudge Rock
Bracelet: Rastaclat
So there's some outfit inspiration for you! Have you gotten your tickets to APOLLO yet?
If you haven't, you came to the right place! In my absence, I am giving four (4) lucky people the chance to experience APOLLO!

FB Name
Email address
There will be two (2) winners (one here, and one from Instagram) of two (2) tickets each. You can do both and/or share as many times as you want-- more entries, more chances of winning! I will be choosing the winners at random. (However, I'll make sure that a person only wins once.) Winners will be announced on the evening of Wednesday, November 12.
Good luck everyone! I wish I could say "see you there", but I can't so I'll just simply say, have a blast! (I'm sure you will, even without me saying so!)
EDIT (11/12/14):
Congratulations to the 2 winners:
Jasmine Gines from Facebook &
@joooooooooohnoh from Instagram!
Please email me at e.rsls@yahoo.com by tomorrow, 12NN to find out how you can get your tickets. (Failure to contact me by then will invalidate your win)
To everyone else who joined the giveaway, thank you so much!

Preview Best-Dressed Ball 2014: Skin City
Last June 27, Preview Magazine-- the country's leading style magazine from Summit Media (we don't have a local Vogue, unfortunately)-- held its 19th anniversary ball dubbed "Skin City". It was an ode to the Vegas nightlife. Customarily, the event also celebrated the best-dressed ladies of the local fashion scene of the year, a list that many look forward to annually.
The Preview Best-Dressed Ball was an invite-only event, exclusive to big names in the industry-- from designers, to models, and up to style icons. I've loved Preview ever since I was young (I've always loved fashion although I only got the courage to show it a little late), and I've always dreamt of what it would be like to attend the ball. And so when Ms. Daryl Chang-- stylist and the magazine's fashion director-- held a contest on her Instagram account, I jumped the chance.
The contest was simple: she wanted to see/read about our visions for the theme of the event which was "Skin". Eagerly, I tapped into my creative writing skills, and came up with this:
Skin is the epitome of irony. It is being carefree, yet being conscious. Skin is being simple, yet being rebellious. Skin is being vulnerable, yet having no fear. It's revelling in the simplest things in the most extravagant ways. So I'll wear something in the wrong way that would give it even more justice, spice up the bare with gold, unleash the raven in me, and let go of all care that should have been thrown away the moment I stepped out of my bedroom. I am skin, skin is me. (Got my ensemble planned, but I wouldn't want to spoil it, would I?
Okay, I may have exaggerated a lot of the parts there, lol. But hey, anything to increase the chances of getting in! And with luck, I sure did! I was beyond ecstatic upon finding out.
Top: Forever 21 || Skirt: from Korea
Ring-to-wrist bracelet: Aldo Accessories || Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
My outfit photos were actually taken after coming home from the event, hence the smudged makeup (and messy hair). I kinda liked the effect though. I mean, I literally just went all random on my eyeshadow and tried to make them smokey.. I'm not a makeup expert in any way, really. You know how you pile on too much makeup that it ends up looking better after a few hours when some of it has faded?
Since the theme was "Skin", I decided to go with neutral colors. Did you know that I actually wore the top the other way around? I found the "real" front of the top too plain, so I wore the very detailed back on the front. And that's exactly what I meant in my entry with "I'll wear something in the wrong way that would give it even more justice". So what did you think of my outfit?
Okay, now we move on to the real thing: the ball itself!
The event was held at Hyve, an upscale bar in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. I brought with me a friend, Deon, who I'm so glad could make it because I wouldn't have been allowed to go to the event alone (given that I didn't know anyone there). And I couldn't not go because it was a rare opportunity!!
Upon entering the venue (after checking my name on the guestlist hihi), there awaited the "red carpet" (which wasn't red at all, btw). Shamelessly, I walked up to it, stroke a pose for the camera, and had my own little "moment". Seeing as I was a nobody, I wasn't expecting they'd post it on their website, Style Bible. But when I saw my photo on the gallery, I couldn't contain my delight.
The photo above was grabbed from Preview's website; but the next photos are all mine (with a few by my friend). I'm so glad I decided to bring my camera and got to cover the event! I signed up as part of the media, so rest assured that these photos are taken with permission.
We made sure to maximize the opportunity of being part of the media. So Deon, with his outgoing personality, was the one who approached people to ask if we could take their photos, and I took the shots. (To be honest, I don't know all of the people pictured below.) And so, here's the photodump of the event, with some photos of the venue and setup as well. (There may be a few blurbs here and there, and name labels too under those I recognize.)
That's me! Unfortunately, I didn't win.
Didn't win this one, either.
Crystalle Henares (left)
Daryl Chang
Big thanks to her!! Got to chat with her a bit, and took a photo with her as well. Definitely my fave Preview editor. If her avant-gardian ways weren't enough to make her lovable, she's also really nice!
Maggie Wilson (right)
Asia's Next Top Model's Katarina Rodriguez
Second encounter with her. The first was at the Lee PhFW show.
Dominique Cojuangco
Isabelle Daza
She's even more beautiful in person! Natural Filipina beauty. My favorite photo from the event is of hers, below.
Jessica Yang (left)
Yang is one of Preview's best dressed for the year,
There's a snake in his pocket. No really, look closely.

Raymond Gutierrez must be one of the few privileged people who can pull of wearing socks with sandals.
This man wanted a photo with Ellen Adarna (left), so here!
Laureen Uy of Break My Style (center) and Liz Uy (right)
Details of their outfit. Liz Uy's nail polish is actually chrome.
Ever the stylish siblings-- Laureen, the fashion blogger, and Liz, the celebrity stylist.

America's Next Top Model's Allison Harvard
I had to leave quite early because I had class the next morning, so my timing was just perfect when I was about to leave and saw Allison Harvard just coming in.
As this post comes to an end, I present to you screenshots (like, literally) of the Best Dressed women chosen by Preview for this year! You can click the photos to see them more clearly.
Aaaaand as an ending to this post, here's a photo of me at the event itself (thanks Deon for taking this one!):
I got the bangle (it lights up and changes color!) from the Dice game!
So that's my experience at the Preview Best-Dressed Ball 2014. Hopefully I get the chance to go again next year haha! What did you think of my coverage? Any outfits you liked? Any faces you recognize? Let me know!
Also, don't forget to follow me on GFC, Bloglovin, and/or Instagram! I'm on the brink of reaching a hundred followers here, and I'm really happy! (I actually did reach 100 already, but I guess someone unfollowed me huhu). I'd love to hear from you guys too, so feel free to leave a comment below! I'll make sure to return the favor asap. Thanks!!
