During the Los Angeles leg of our trip, we rented a lovely apartment that was near most must-see destinations. It was our first try with AirBNB, and it definitely set the bar high for our future trips. Should you ever need a place to stay at in LA, I highly recommend the listing we booked. Besides the convenient location, crisp and clean interiors, and complete amenities, the hosts were amazing as well.
For our first whole day in LA, we started with brunch at Urth Caffé-- one of California's most famous coffee shops. They have a couple of stores all over, but we chose to visit their 90210 branch. In case you didn't know, I'm a sucker for good breakfast food. That being said, I'm giving Urth my stamp of approval haha!
After eating, we walked to drool-worthy Rodeo Drive, and all the way down to the famous Beverly Hills sign at the Beverly Gardens Park. We then drove to Downtown LA, and parked at the Hollywood and Highland Center, where you can find the Dolby Theatre (the last time we were there, it was still called the Kodak Theatre lol). Cliché as it may be, we traced by foot the Walk of Fame and dropping by Grauman's Chinese Theatre along the way. Back at the Hollywood and Highland Center, we chanced upon a free exhibit of HBO's Game of Thrones. Personally, I don't watch the show; however, my parents do, so we checked it out anyway. Nevertheless, I appreciated the whole fair because I am partly familiar with the plot and characters. Also, the craftsmanship that went into every prop and such was definitely worth admiring.
One of the best things about the West Coast is the weather being bearable even in mid-December. It was not too cold nor hot, just the perfect temp for walking around the city.
